HSC FINANCE BUNDLE

Teaching finance in Business Studies - Course 1 (Online) (FIN101 NSW)

Description
Teaching finance in Business Studies is challenging. This course aims to break down and simplify this key curriculum area (20% of the HSC content for Business Studies) – to give participants deeper subject knowledge and ways of designing and implementing this into their teaching and learning programs. It also provides stimulus for creative assessment. As this topic contains many abstract notions, a deeper understanding equips teachers with greater ways to structure learning and teaching programs – especially with respect to the sequence in which this topic is taught. The course models a logical progression through the curriculum – and shows vital links that exist. Utilising real life financial reports, teachers can make use of this model in the classroom, creating engaging lessons which promote learning.
As the Accounting profession progresses, new Australian Accounting Standards are released – as well as critical issues in financial reporting. This course utilises the latest Australian Accounting Standards – and up to date information (such as the financial reasons behind the collapse of Dick Smith) to allow participants to see the latest knowledge and practice related to finance.
The course will also provide an additional worked case study (valued at $63.50) to all participants for further engagement (see http://resourcefactory.com.au/PatricksPizzaStudent.html for details of the book you will receive for free in this course).
This is Course 1 of a 3 course series that covers EVERY aspect of Business Studies.

It covers the Objectives of financial management, the Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow statement, Links and Limitations of financial reports as well as ratio analysis and strategies.
